Film Growth of Tetragonal SnO2 on Glass Substrate by Dip-Coating Technique for Ethanol Sensing Applications

A thin film sensor based on tetragonal SnO2 nanoparticles was fabricated by combining the sol–gel method and a dip-coating technique cylindrical glass substrate. The sensing material produced through cycling annealing process at 400 600 °C, using tin chloride (IV) pentahydrate as precursor in polyethylene glycol (PEG) solution surfactant. Materials were characterized scanning electron microscopy (SEM) X-ray diffraction (XRD), revealing phase formation with no impurities. sensor?s assembly done low-cost materials such Cu electrodes, Cu-Ni tube pins, glass-reinforced epoxy laminate base material. For signal variation, an adequate voltage divider circuit used to detect ethanol?s presence surface of sensor. response gaseous ethanol its operating temperature ambient pressure is comparable that commercial sensor, advantage detecting lower temperatures.
